DM: Who are your biggest influences artistically?

SB: Depends on my mood. I like to draw people and plants, so anything from Varga to Cézanne.

DM: How do you start your drawings? Do you have any ideas when you start working or do you just find inspiration as you go?

SB: Both...sexy music helps (couldn't have been inspired without you for you). However, more than a lot of times, I'm inspired when I'm supposed to be working--like the girls! I just get an idea in my head, and I have to at least sketch it out.

DM: Some artists like to use watercolor or pencils. Do you have a favorite medium?

SB: I really like coloured pencil especially water colour pencil. For painting, I'm an acrylic.

DM: What do you find sexy in art?

SB: It isn't obvious, huh? My favorite are eyes that flirt with the onlooker. For instance, currently, the Cutty Shark girl or all those Camel ads. Ah, the days of burlesque with their fancy feather fan dances. Oh, we can't forget Betty Rubble. tee hee hee

DM: How about in life?

SB: You. Oh, you mean, well, there are lots of pretty people out there--living in Seattle, you can't help run into a few. However, sexy is also about an attitude--if you've got it, flaunt it and be swell about taking a compliment for it when you do. I 'd like to add that I'm a little sick of the "I'm a naughty Catholic school girl," but who can honestly think that short plaid skirts and thigh highs aren't where it's at.

DM: What do you want people to think of when they see your artwork?

SB: The girls? Boobs, I imagine. I've had some rather nice compliments on a lot of my scribbles. It's been more than wonderful to have people ask me to draw/paint something for him/her/them. It was way too fantastic that you even considered my D-Girls. It's the first time I've had anything out there for the whole world to see. Though I'm happy, I can’t look at them for too long. I can see where improvements need to be made—I won’t point them out for fear others will be bothered by the same spots. Besides, I already have a bag, babydoll T, lunch box, and underpants with the girls on them--it's a bit too late to worry now. (How kick a** is that--you put my art work on such cool stuff!)

DM: Are you an electronic music fan?

SB: My hips sure are.

DM: Its the end of the world. People are gathering up small amounts of personal material to bring on the escape rockets. What albums would you want to bring with you?

SB: Seriously, are you sure you want to ask such a question, you've seen all the tapes in my car. Lets just say, besides DJDM, there'd be MD, DM, and a whole lot of D-2.

DM: If you could go back in time and do one thing what would it be?

SB: The Can Can. No, maybe taken my grandmother up on that offer to go to art school in Mexico...yeah, like my family would have allowed that.
