Checkered Flags for The Forza Motorsport 3 Soundtrack

Forza Motorsports 3 Soundtrack Available for Preorder

The powerful and engrossing soundtrack CD created by composer Lance Hayes for Forza 3 is now available for preorder from Amazon.com and Best Buy.com. The release date for the Sumthing Distribution released soundtrack is December 8th (12/08/09, just in time for the holidays). It will be in select stores as a CD release as well as from all of the usual download sites (Sumthing Digital, ITunes, Zune etc.).

Featuring cuts from the primarily ambient electronica score the FM3 OST is a collection of music for the fans that want to take the feel and experience of Forza out of the gamespace or for the listener that enjoys electronic music.

Forza 3 Released! And Lance Hayes’ Fan Page on Facebook also New Media

You can now purchase Forza Motorsports 3 at retailers across the US. Happy driving. If you like the music that you hear in the UI feel free to drop Lance a line and or head over to his new fan page on Facebook for updates and news about projects and new developments.

The Forza 3 soundtrack was created with a panoply of soft synths but none saw quite as much use as Reason 4. In a series called “Patch Charts” on the Propellerhead Software website you can some check out Lance’s favorite presets and how they were used in specific tracks along with production insights and tips. You can learn more about it all here on the Propellerhead site.

The cat’s out of the bag! Lance is excited to announce that he is hard at work on Forza Motorsport 3 set for release this October. It’s been hush hush for some time but his music and sound design will both be featured in what is sure to be one of the crown jewels of this generation’s racing games. Announced at the start of this year’s E3 FM3 and an additional Xbox title (Joy Ride) that Lance is involved with were both featured in Microsoft’s Keynote. There is a bit more detail and some personal thoughts on his blog here.

In more game news, Lance is still working hard an additional unannounced titled for casual game creator HipSoft.

In the world of television airplay, Lance was informed but friend and fellow composer Druu that his track “Butterflyed Eyes” appeared in Food Network’s “Food Detectives” show recently. Also notable are fresh rotations of domestic MTV and VH1 shows using Lance’s music.

Australia has recently been a hot bed of activity for Lance with many shows using his work. Networks include Animal Planet and National Geographic and shows include “Home and Garden” and “Current Affair”.

Welcome to the newly refurbished DJDM.com! Lance would like to thank friend and web design guru Andrew Rothman for his phenomenal work on the site. Looking good Drew!

After a one year absence Lance is excited to be going to the Game Developer’s Conference in San Francisco (March 23rd - 27th) to rub shoulders with the gaming community and catch up with friends both old and new.

Speaking of projects… In music news, Lance is deep into the creation process on the soundtrack for a “yet to be announced” Xbox 360 racing game for Turn 10 / Microsoft Game Studios. Check back here for more info about this massive project soon.

Additionally in the pipeline is soundtrack work for HipSoft’s brilliant casual games line on an also “yet to be announced” game.

Lance recently found out that one of his tracks has been licensed for use in an Oprah episode. That brings the total to two of his tracks used for Oprah episodes. One more and we have a hat trick! This and other new TV airplay for 2008 has been added to the “Projects” page.
